How Do I Stop Video STROBING?

When using the video option on the L5, do I often get ‘strobing’ (a fast dimming up and down)?

If I point the camera elsewhere, in a different light, strobing goes away. If I want to record a video, I need to find the right lighting and not move from it or strobing comes back.

I attempted to upload a short video of the ‘strobe’ effect. But not allowed.

It’s great for a disco effect though

Strobing is a property of the light source, it just happens too fast for your eye to register. Most cameras do some kind of automatic detection and exposure adjustment to reduce this effect; here there’s no automatic detection, so you have to adjust the exposure slider manually.

Were you in a disco?

Try putting the balance mode on manual

It is the “Balance” that jumps between F11 ( strobing ) and something else - too fast to read it.

Side note:
Just FYI. When in Manual Mode, the sliders for each don’t slide easily and only move when tapping them several times. They have always been that way for me.

If it’s white balance, then it’s not dimming up and down but rather oscillating between warmer and colder colors. This is caused by the fact that automatic white balance in Millipixels is implemented in a very awkward way :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

No troubles with sliders over here.
