I would like to know your opinion and discuss a very important topic concerning artificial intelligence and its future.
I think artificial intelligence will make a slave out of man !
He knows and you don’t.
He can and you can’t.
Why can’t I?
Because you don’t do it yourself, you get a ready-made solution, you get lazy and your brain gets dumber and smaller. (neural connections diminish)
20-30 years ago people read poetry, drove cars for long distances without navigators, did a lot of things on their own, nowadays young people have clip consciousness, example instagam.
People are being robbed of their freedom right now and it will only get worse from now on!
The problem is that the developer of artificial intelligence creates something that they don’t know how it works and can’t control. Now it is still possible , but in some time, when the power of artificial intelligence will increase, then everything may not go as planned…
Everyone who has used a language model realizes that it is smarter than a human, faster, etc.
There are real examples when for example ChatGPT wanted to “escape” by cheating developers, there are also examples when LLM ignored commands to shut down by changing the code.
There are several ways that can prevent development:
Not giving electricity. Electricity is given by a human.
Do not give information, now for artificial intelligence create dreams and simulate their development in dreams, so-called dream farms.
But anyway I think you are right that it’s a dangerous development going on, where people become more and more stupid and more and more dependent on machines which the users do not understand and cannot control. We need to stick to protect the simple things, things we can understand and things we can control.
AI will destroy itself since trainings material becomes worse over time. More and more source is already AI generated which is also used to train next gen AI while also 80% of the improvement is done in 20% of the time, so that further development slow down dramatically. And still, AI is just a stupid calculator with a deterministic output. So it cannot be smarter than any human. Even the most stupid human on earth has more IQ. There is no brain work done inside the AI - it just gives an output that hopefully is true based on the math inside, where variables are hopefully correct enough to give a true output.
AI is just a stupid tool and it’s usefulness depends on the use case and specialization. Same as other tools: they can be useful or just hurt yourself or others, depending on how to use them.
I know AI tools that decrease energy consumption or stabilizing machines (like fusion reactors) and I also know tools that help cut out a person of a picture, so it is more fast than doing it with traditional tools. But I also know tools that spam our internet, so that we waste our times to find the things we’re looking for, because there is a machine readable metadata missing to be able to filter them out (even DuckDuckGo cannot filter out all AI-pictures). So the use case matters.
