Greetings, one and all. Im wondering if there is a specific key combination i can use to boot directly from a usb stick that already has an .iso I’d like to install (eg, on macbooks, you hold down [option].). I’m also wondering what setting should/should not be used in the ueifi setting in order to boot from usb/external cd/dvd.
Thierry, thanks for the info (rather, confirmation). I had tried this previously, by selecting the usb device and cd/dvdrom device on separate tests using F10, to no avail. I even went back into BIOS and altered the boot order; again, to no avail.
It looks like I’ll be going back to triple-checking the media has the proper .iso, then verifying the USB port statuses as [enabled], though I’m sure they are.
If you (or anyone reading this) has any additional suggestions, I’m willing to give it a shot.
Thank you (and thanks in advance to future responders)!
Just yesterday I had to burn PureOS 3 alpha 2 ISO image on a Windows laptop, simply because it was the only one available at the time - and it was hard
I ended up using the Etcher tool, a free download from here : http://etcher.io
If you ever had to “burn” an ISO image to a USB drive / flashdisk on a Windows computer, Etcher will help you greatly
