I am able to select the text in a message that I have sent, but I cannot figure out how to copy it. Is this possible?
Yes. Via the keyboard (“Terminal” mode).
Tap the >_
key, then the Menu
key.
The Select All
, Copy
, and Paste
context menu will appear.
Copy what you want, then open the app where you want to paste it, e.g. Text Editor
. Then paste it.
Thanks! Worked perfectly. I selected by swiping over the text that I wanted to copy. That caused the keyboard to disappear, but I could tap the “keyboard” button in the bottom-right corner of the screen, which caused the keyboard to reappear with the text still selected. After that, I used your instructions.
By the way, if you tap into a single message and then Select All
, the “All” means just that message, not the entire conversation. Trying to click in the white space to copy all the messages at once won’t enable Select All
; however you can choose Archive chat
from the preferences menu to save the entire conversation. That moves it from view to Archived Chats
, but you can also unarchive it from there, which moves it back to the main list of conversations.
Is it possible to select⇢copy⇢paste senders texts?
