How to deal with GNOME's middle-click?

I would like the “normal” mouse functionality where you have left click and right click and you do those by clicking on the left or right, but it doesn’t look like that’s an option anymore? Like if you want to get rid of middle click, you’re penalized by having to right-click doing some kind of vulcan salute on the touchpad that doesn’t seem to work.

If I go in to Tweaks > Keyboard & Mouse I see “Mouse Click Emulation” that gives me only three options and none of which that I want.

Fingers - Click the touchpad with two fingers for right click and three fingers for middle-click

Area - Click the bottom right of the touchpad for right-click and the bottom middle for middle-click

Disabled - Don’t use the mouse-click emulation.

Could there be like a fourth option?

Normal - Click on the lower left for left-click and the lower right for right-click, middle-click doesn’t exist.

Is there a way just to disable middle-click?

If not, are there official PureOS supported desktop environments other than GNOME?
