How to fsck on boot?

How can I run fsck on my Librem 15 on boot? I am getting black screen on the computer while using it. I have tried touch /forcefsck and shutdown -rF now, but I cannot tell if they are actually run on startup.

Also, what is the purpose of the reset button do on laptop? Thank you.

dumpe2fs /dev/DRIVE shall tell you among other information the time of last filesystem check of DRIVE.

Thank you, it seems that touch /forcefsck did the job.

Do you have any idea what the reset button does on this laptop? I cannot find documentation.

Have you searched this forum?

Yes, I did not think that answer complete. But I can accept that all it does it reboot the machine.

I haven’t tried it yet, but this reminds me the big fat “RESET” button on the first desktop computer at my home a few decades ago: it simply forcefully makes the computer reboot. It was very useful to work around frequent BSOD or occasional freezes back then.

Interesting. I thought it odd because I’m used to holding power button down, but I will keep it in mind in case power does not reboot. Easy to forget about the reset button. Thank you again.
