How to type SHIFT+ENTER on Librem 5

I’m using default Librem 5 onscreen keyboard and SHIFT+ENTER doesn’t actually type SHIFT+ENTER, and instead just sends an ENTER key code. Is there a workaround for this?

Thanks

Squeekboard 1.43+ have a true shift modifier that can be exposed via custom Layout (as Squick has). Still not sure if it works, because I never tried it in combination with Enter, since I don’t know where it is a shortcut.

P_O_S can pre-define shortcuts. But I don’t know anymore what was the first supported version to this feature.

  1. Depending on what application needs that sequence, you may be able to alter the needed sequence by configuration in the application.
  2. External keyboard. Could be a portable mini-keyboard (I have a couple that work with the Librem 5). Could be a lapdock. Could be you just borrow someone’s keyboard.

e.g. LibreOffice Writer - where Enter gets you a paragraph end and Shift+Enter gets you a line break. (Best to have “show formatting marks” enabled to see this behaviour more clearly.)

e.g. the same distinction is made in the Thunderbird compose window.

The question was stupid yesterday. Today I have a lot of use cases in mind where Shift+Enter is used by me. I just did not use it on phone. But thanks for examples.
