I’ve looked through the forums, but am not sure if this specific issue has been addressed. I suspect my phone is not fully powering off when I shut it down because it stays warm for a few hours and the battery is depleted when I try to turn it back on after a while when it shouldn’t be. It’s not the same problem as when the Librem 5 logo is there for a while on shut down. The phone looks like it’s off. If I take out the battery and put it back in, it will turn on right away without physically turning it back on sometimes. Sometimes I have trouble turning it on, but I think it’s because it was never really off and is in a weird state. Does anyone have any insight into this problem? Thanks!
One test that I would do is: ping it from another computer continuously while you shut it down and see whether you lose network connectivity.
When you take the battery out and put it back in, is the phone on the charger?
How exactly do you shut the Librem 5 down? I have no issues using either the Phosh or hard shut off method.
Thanks! Usually it’s unplugged but it’s been plugged in a handful of times.
I’ve been using the “power off” button on the screen. I’ve tried both buttons available; the one you get from the top of the screen and the one that comes up when you use the physical power button.
The hard shut off method is when you hold the power button down for 10 seconds, which forces the Librem 5 to shut off without any Phosh prompts. Any unsaved work in your current session may be lost if you use it, so you will want to be careful with when it is used.
