Weather app doesn’t seem to work anymore , at least for me. Rebooting won’t help either. Is it unreliable for anyone else? It seems both pureos store and weather have issues every now and then

It only worked the first couple of times i tried it. I might just uninstall and install it again and hopefully it resolves

More seriously, I couldn’t work out the nature of what malfunction is being reported here. Is there an error message? Does it fail to start and just disappear? Does it fail to start by hanging? Does it show the weather for the wrong location?
Does it help to start the app from the shell prompt in case it is outputting an error message?

That app is buggy; i’d recommend downloading the other weather app (also called weather) from the pureos store and using it.

Nah its just loading without showing anything. Similar to how pureos store works. Uninstalling and installing it again has fixed it for now

Nope. Never has. Always shows the whole province, all 944,735 of it.
I can’t change location either. When doing the location the darned tear-drop gets in the way every time.
Too, when I let it show my province, and I check the Weather result against several local weather stations, it’s out every time.
Odd. The app is gathering data from ‘Norwegian Meteorological Institute’ but fails to include Bouvet Island, which belongs to Norway.
I’d lose it for something else, but it seems apps when deleted, uninstalled, or what ever Linux calls it, leave headaches behind.
I just look out the window any way.

Yeah I’ve had the same problem, with the store too. The store was so hard to get working I don’t even bother with it anymore. I don’t really care about an ‘app store’ so it’s just an annoyance, but I do wish it worked better for others who do care.

Just adding that my experience with the preinstalled weather app is hit or miss as well. Sometimes it works and other times the app opens but the weather data does not load. It seems like it happens at random too, as not even a reboot will fix it sometimes.

Bouvet Island is cold right now. The search for the Weather app sucks, but after backspacing over “island” the result of “Bouvet Island” showed in the dropdown results. I often see endless loading lockups, but it recovers. I’d say it works about 75% for me.

Yahoo! I love it when I know I made a indelible mark on the Internet. Bouvet Island is not a country, but it is owned by Norway. I wonder how long it will take before it’s corrected - if at all. Thanks for sharing.
As for a weather target, I use what the airline pilots use when they prepare for their flights. Govt weather for airlines is bound to be more accurate.

From day 1, it does nothing when I type a location and hit return. Nothing. No dropdown while typing (didn’t even know it was supposed to do that). I also have never seen the PureOS store work. All blank. Very disappointing, but then it just makes me feel like I should be contributing to the development… (but first, chatty! 
)
