KDE or GNOME on Librem 5?

After the announcement regarding the partnership with KDE, is the plan is to have KDE on the Librem 5 instead of GNOME, or does the partnership mean you will be working with both foundations so that users can choose which they prefer?

Both GNOME and KDE will be developed for the Librem and the user will have the choice.

I like KDE because gnome’s theme is so dark!
