Key Doesn't Type on Librem 14

My Librem 14 has a stuck key which is making it harder to type. Or rather the key isn’t physically stuck but when I press it, it doesn’t always trigger the typing/insertion of the character.

Is there a suggested way to fix?

I had the same issue on my laptop (not a Purism laptop though). The cause for my laptop was that the flat ribbon cable that connects the keyboard to the motherboard of the laptop was askew in the socket. Putting it straight in fixed the issue.

There are existing discussions of similar problems.

As @janvlug says, check the keyboard cable connector. If that is fine, you may have to replace the keyboard (which would likely involve contacting Purism Support).

An issue affecting a single key could also be dirt or residue under the membrane interfering with the contacts.

Does it affect other keys in the same row or column or just a single key? The key matrix is documented here: Keyboard issues - Purism user documentation

If it’s just a single key, you probably need to focus on checking the contacts for that particular key. If it’s a whole row or column, it’s more likely to be the keyboard ribbon or connector.
