Kill Switches not working?

Im going to do some testing soon.

However, I am noticing right now that the Microphone kill switch is not working. This is a problem!

EVIDENCE:
Operating System: Qubes
Software: Device Manager located in task bar. (Yellow Icon)
What: When switch is turned on,
-Device QUANTA_HD_WebCam and Microphone are listed.
When switch is turned off,
-Device QUANTA_HD_WebCam is removed but Device Microphone is still there!

I would like to see this fixed on my computer!
I will test it and see if its a mistake in the Qubes software.

This is expected and normal. Webcam is a USB device and kill switch cuts the power to it causing USB disconnect. So the kernel sees the device gone.

“Device Microphone” is a property of a sound chip. It is going to be there as long as sound chip driver is operating. The microphone kill switch disconnects microphone signal wire from the sound chip. This is invisible for the kernel and probably for the sound chip itself too. The kernel will happily record lack of signal from microphone, should you tell it to do so.
