The availability chart on the puri.sm store site hasn’t been kept up to date lately. But the page for the liberty phone just says its available on backorder and restocking soon. I think its said this for a few months now. So I’m just wondering what ball park time frame it will be back in stock?

Yes, but if you go to the liberty phone product page to add it to your cart, it says its only available on back order directly above the Add to cart button

Frankly is right. Only Purism can provide information about the actual supply situation, and only Purism can resolve the apparent inconsistency between the two Purism web site pages. @JCS ?

Purism expects to receive Liberty Phone PCBA in approximately 3-4 weeks, after which backorders will be assembled. Assembly doesn’t usually take too long; I would estimate backorders to take 1-2 weeks to process.
Therefore, barring unforeseen circumstances, let’s say 4-6 weeks until fulfillment of new orders.

Fyi this is purely a user anecdote but I bought two Liberty Phones at different times, because I liked my non-Liberty, basic Librem 5 and wanted the best plus a replacement for spare parts in case Purism SPC goes out of business or anything.
But my two Liberty Phones were ordered at different times. One of them had '“backordered” on the shop page and the other did not. The result was a huge difference in the time between order submit and when the device was in my hand. The backordered one was a few months, the non-backordered one was a few weeks (fast, maybe 1 week taken by Purism putting it in a box, 1 week of actual shipping time, I forget details but could look them up late).
My takeaway was that “backordered” for any products at Purism on the shop page is extremely meaningful and should be taken seriously (if you care about shipping time).
