Libtem 14’s integrated keyboard shows Z for left shift and X for right shift, making entering LUKS password impossible without an external keyboard. The issue persists after booted into the system.
Search brings up quite a few topics that seem similar but it is not crystal clear whether you have a mapping problem or a short in the matrix. Best to go through Purism Support.
Can you confirm whether the problem only occurs during LUKS password entry or it occurs with any use of the integrated keyboard i.e. after successful boot?
Fun interim option: Use an external keyboard to change the LUKS slot encryption passphrase on the encrypted partition of the internal boot disk so as not to need the Shift key.
NB: This is not an actual re-encryption of the disk, so the amount of time to change the passphrase is trivial.
Caution though … make sure you remember what you changed it to. An alternative may be to add a second slot with a passphrase that does not need the Shift key. That way the original passphrase is still there for when the original problem is fixed and you can then at that time clear the second slot.
Occurs after booted into the system as well. I’ll contact support and see if I can order a replacement keyboard. If that doesn’t fix it I’ll order a new motherboard.

I reached out to support for a new keyboard, but will probably enquire about my options since I can’t really RMA a secondhand device. I already replaced my battery and I have upgraded PureBoot and the CE.
I just hope I can get it addressed soon because I leave for work the first day of June and I need this laptop to be reliable.
Was your keyboard working before? Could you try remapping the keys and seeing if that fixes your issue?
It indeed was working until I booted it up after a day of not using it.
I tried everything Support said to, I’ll wait for their reply as I purchase a couple of new keyboards.
I am still awaiting the link from support to purchase a new keyboard. As well as information regarding the price of a new motherboard
