I plan on doing this to my Librem 5 when I get it, to those who have disassembled theirs, how much space is there between the heat spreader and the CPU? Does it look sealed fairly well against the shielding? I unfortunately can’t tell based on the puri.sm article… But, I do understand that either way, I will have to have some form of barrier between the aluminum and the CPU’s inner portion (Maybe silicone?)…

Interested to know how your experiment turns out, but I woud be more curious to know if replacing the standard thermal paste with Arctic Silver makes any performance difference, since that doesn’t risk damaging the L5.
