hello, I would like to collaborate on your librem 5 project. For example, I would like to help you translate it into Italian.

Hello and welcome to the forum :slight_smile:

Great! You can find the source code here: https://source.puri.sm/Librem5
See also https://developer.puri.sm/Librem5/Contact/Contributing.html

I don’t know exactly how that works but I think it has to do with “.po” files, here is an example of a directory with such files for different languages: https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/chatty/-/tree/master/po

What specific part of the librem 5 would you like to translate? :slight_smile: I think officially it supports phosh, which, if i’m not mistaken, uses gnome’s translation system.
This is located at https://l10n.gnome.org/. The librem 5 related translations specifically are located at https://l10n.gnome.org/releases/librem5/.
What you could do is create an account, and apply as a translator for the italian language.

I hope that helps, and good luck ^^

I was thinking of translating the user interface, many in Italy would like to use it, but they are discouraged by the English language.
How do you apply for italin translator?

@Dalla91, see these instructions: https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/community-wiki/-/wikis/Frequently%20Asked%20Questions#34-how-can-i-translate-the-software-on-the-librem-5

Most translations for user facing programs are done via https://l10n.gnome.org/ - i’d join the team there.
