Librem 5 won't sign in to Chase Bank

Neither browser will allow me to sign in to chase.com

Web 40.2 is rejected as an old browser. Firefox ESR causes the site to throw up a warning about checking laptop specifications because of “enhancements” to their site.

I suggest contacting the bank. The browsers follow Web standards already, it’s up to websites to accept them too.

You would think so.

Talking to the bank about it is probably about as useful as talking to a tree. “I talk to the trees, but they don’t listen to me.”

Maybe you could try the Mobile View Switcher – Adoptez cette extension pour  Firefox (fr) (mozilla.org) addon for firefox.

After installing it (don’t remember if it’s in the base package), you could switch from mobile to a desktop view and in my case it helps with some site.

This happened to me. I just switched the browser off the Mobile Switcher and it worked.

That does sound like a likely solution. I’ll check it out.

That solution works. Pity it isn’t a curated add-on.

Just have to remember to switch it off after I use it.

You just have to tap/clic on the mobile icon near the url bar. This addon is a must have for convergence mode.

You’d think so until you ran into one of these browser add-ons that uses it’s permission to look at every page to mess up pages. Forget what Chrome add-on it was that altered pages it had no business altering. Wasn’t malicious so far as I could tell, it just started making every web page unreadable.

If I can’t delete it and it has a warning about viewing every page, I turn it off in the browser settings until I need it next time.

Don’t know why Firefox doesn’t have a built in version of this function. Chrome on my real phone does “Desktop version of this site [checkbox]” A search says it ought to be there, but I don’t see it on my Librem 5 or on my Linux machine desktop. Closest you can get is some developer tool which I didn’t try.

It is because Firefox on the Librem 5 is technically a desktop browser with some tweaks to make the UI more mobile friendly.

As long as on my Librem 5 Ctrl + + zooms the browser in and Ctrl + zooms the browser out I’m quite comfortable with this too.
