Librem key PIN lost

I cannot seem to remember my librem key pin. What does one do in this situation. And what occurs when the remaining attempts runs out.

PureOS installed some ‘automatic updates’ which required signing, and since I apparently mis-remembered the pin, the signing failed and I am dumped into /boot. I tried the OEM reset for the librem key, but this also required a known PIN.

Thanks for the link; though neither default pin worked for me.
