Ah, yeah, well, there wasn’t much hacking involved… the MiniV1 (and V2 for that matter) still uses a proprietary EC firmware. With the initial version there was an issue that the fan control was, for some reason, disabled once Coreboot was used (it worked with the also proprietary AMI BIOS). Later we received another version of the EC firmware which had fan control also with Coreboot. That’s all.
I would be very grateful if you could share the EC firmware binaries.
I want to hack around the EC, understand it better and (maybe) try my luck at modifying it, but i fear risking desoldering the EC flash before beeing able to have a golden backup copy, in case i mess something up while desoldering. I can recover from a broken flash chip by soldering an empty spare, but if i destroy the firmware while desoldering, then i would be screwed
