I apologise if this has been addressed elsewhere. I’ve been away from this forum for some time so not following things.
I took out a Librem one subscription years ago now. Then I had trouble renewing it. Purism support was useless but eventually I think they announced that they were suspending subscriptions but the service would continue. This was ages ago. I’ve never received a subscription reminder and contacting support is a total waste of time. I tried in vain to give them my money. My wife uses the email and it appears to have been ok. Lately however the majority of emails she tries to send stall in the outbox and there is no option in that box to actually resend it. So its become unreliable.
Can someone enlighten me as to what the state of play with Librem one is? I’m doubtful that I’d subscribe again because of this issue and the general hopelessness of Purism support. But I’m keen to see if someone can throw some light on this.
I don’t know whether you want to know about the service or whether you want to troubleshoot the problem but if the latter …
What is the nature of the sending device? Device type? Operating system? Mail client?
Have you checked that your (outbound) email settings are up to date? (I know, and you can read in here for yourself, that quite a few changes have been made to Librem One email in recent times. Purism has been making changes recently that should improve the supportability and reliability of the mail service. But I guess that might also have exposed or introduced some kind of interoperability problem.)
Does the sending device allow any kind of logging or diagnostics to show you where and why it is having problems?
And the bigger picture of course as to whether the sending device has a more generic network problem.
Thank you for the reply. I don’t think I need to trouble shoot it. I won’t be taking up another subscription because I just don’t have faith that it will keep working. I’ve been burnt by the appalling support of this crew on a number of occasions so if a problem arises I have zero faith in timely help being there.
Interestingly I have been contacted by DM by support who apologised that in the past it has taken weeks to get to tickets. I’m like…old mate…try NO response over months. Ever.
I love my laptop from Purism but my L5 is a pain in the arse. I don’t need to throw more money their way.
