Librem Tunnel on iOS ("client updated needed")

Every server except Washington DC and Houston is unusable with “(client update needed)” on all the rest. Been like this since at least Nov 23rd. support@purei.sm last update was:

We have identified a problem with iOS client, please be patient until the app is updated, our devs are working on it.

I’m surprised there isn’t a thread here about it. Are any of you using Tunnel for iOS?

This is being discussed in the Matrix Librem One Support room. It looks like “michael_dev” recommended this app, which will work with the Librem Tunnel service -

Obtain Tunnel Credentials and *.ovpn configuration file

Other ways to setup Tunnel Tunnel uses a username and password different from the Librem One credentials. To setup Tunnel in an OpenVPN client without the ldh_client, you can:

1 - Download the profile file from here: https://librem.one/public/certificate.ovpn

2 - Log in to your account at: librem.one

3 - While you are log in at: librem.one, open a new tab in your browser and go to: https://librem.one/api/v1/user/tunnel_account

And from there you can retrieve your Tunnel credentials.

Find your prefered Server at https://privateinternetaccess.com/pages/network/ and
edit profile to your needs

Load OpenVPN App

load the edited profile in OpenVPN App

enter the retrieved credentials and start VPN

open https://privateinternetaccess.com/pages/network/ again and see if you are good to go…
first line on the page green, you are connected to VPN
first line red, no connection to VPN

Thank you for the info! This connects to a California server that is better than the Seattle one I used with Tunnel. I’ll use OpenVPN for the time being, although I do hope they fix the Tunnel functionality as it seems to give more server options.

Although you need to take out the ‘e’ in your support@puri.sm reference.
