Wake your phone from suspend on InstantMessage
Nice. Important work. The only thing missing form @ChriChri wake up list that I’d need is waking up for alarms (clock and calendar), but that’s probably some kind of general event to wake up to (as opposed to the manual and modem based ones). I wonder if there needs to be a hack that wakes up modem to wake up for those… (half jokingly - alarms would come in a minute or two late [which would be an improvement])
I didn’t try that, but the approach would probably be different. You could try using man rtcwake
to achive that locally on the phone without any calls or SMS. In this repository you can find a good start: wake up periodically.
You’d need to find a way to set wakes for events that’ll come. If I remember correctly there’s already been work for gnome-clocks somewhere.
If you use calendar connected to a nextcloud it might be possible to configure nextcloud to push notifications that then could trigger calls or SMS.
You could start by waking up the phone
Added an issue tracker and started writing about the details.
