Limiting Internet access in an app-by-app basis on PureOS?

Is there some recommended/official way for limiting Internet access per-application on PureOS? I know there are Linux packages that would allow this, using different techniques, but… how are you supposed to do it when you use PureOS out of the box, with no extra packages installed? What’s the best way?

I consider this as the most important feature in a privacy-based system.

ufw (Uncomplicated FireWall), you also have a GUI, Gufw. Install it using sudo apt install gui-ufw
