How come when I activate location services in browser it knows my location??
I thought that was the whole point of vpn - that your location is not known. Or is it only the IP address not known??

Check your IP with https://whatismyipaddress.com. VPN only hides your IP address, browser may have different method of discovering your IP.
If using a Firefox flavor, try setting ‘geo.enabled’ to ‘false’. There are different means for determining location, but that may be a start.
