Mobile Data error

Hello,

I cannot access internet via the SIM modem.
Call and SMS are working fine :slight_smile:

Could find much info on internet or the forum,
I tried some command on the terminal (from https://developer.puri.sm/Librem5/Development_Environment/Boards/HowTo/Data_Connections.html?highlight=apn)

mmcli -i 0
mmcli -m 0 --enable

working as expected

mmcli -m 0 --simple-connect=“apn=mmsbouygtel.com”

return the error:
error: couldn’t connect the modem: 'GDBus.Error*org.freedesktop.libqmi.Error.Protocoal.CallFailed: QMI protocol error (14): ‘CallFailed’

ip address show wwan0

wwan0:(…)
link/none

In addition, where can I set addition APN settings?
Such as MMSC, Proxy MMS, Port MMS, MCC, MNC,
those are provided by the mobile compagny to configure internet (and MMS), but withing the system APN settings there is not much fields.

I’m stuck here,

Your are trying to connect to the MMS APN of bouygtel.
MMS are not yet integrated in the librem 5
You can take a look here for the last news about it : State of MMS on Librem 5

Is the baseband switch ON ?
is the cellular icon visible in the top of the screen ?
Are you connected in 2G 3G 4G ?
Did you try to use the web browser ?

Unfortunalty I know that MMS are not working yet.

mmsbouygtel.com

is the APN for bouygues telecom (in france). It is used for MMS AND to access internet as well.

Yes, all fine. And internet does not work with web browser.
(call and sms OK)

OK, so after searching more about bouygues APN:
http://www.apn.how/france/bouygues

internet is working with:

ebouygtel.com

web browser OK
geary OK

next step will be to have MMS working fine.

Nice !
It’s a bit late but, did you try to use nm-connection-editor to set the APN settings ? (I recommend display to 100% and horizontal screen mode)

To make MMS works in a non-official way, you have to clone the project, compile the source, restart mmsd&chatty
