Just thinking out loud, what about a case that includes the back cover so that we do not increase the thickness of the phone? Basically a back cover with rubber bumpers around the phone edge and some protrusion above the glass surface?
It definitely need to be a case intelligently engineered that doesn’t increase the thickness substantially, that is why i said a cool-case.
This is a really good idea.
Maybe also have it hold the metal ring for the Lapdock Kit on the inside?
