My USB ports stopped working

I really don’t understand what happened. Last week, my USB ports were working. For example, I could connect a USB key (exFAT format) and read/write files from/to it.

Today, the USB key does not mount in any of the 4 USB ports. My USB key has a small light on it that usually turns on when electricity gets to it. But when I plug it to the Librem the light does not switch on which tells me that no electricity gets to the USB key at all.

Is there a way to test if my USB ports are functional? Did I upgrade a package that turned off all my USB ports?

Appreciate the help in advance.

Please post here the outputs of the following command:

sudo lspci -v

sudo lsusb -v

Hi Mladen, please ignore my request. After rebooting 2 times, the USB ports are working again. Thanks

Same problem today. I restarted once already. This is the output of the 2 commands:

I’m having USB trouble as well. It started a week ago with an update that killed my USB Bluetooth. I tried a wired USB mouse to no avail. The last update a couple of days ago has somewhat restored USB service, but I have to plug my USB in after boot on the login screen before it will work. It seems to work fine after that. If the mouse is plugged in at boot time, it fails to work. I have a Librem 13v3 that I keep up-to-date and I have not installed the non-free Bluetooth, just use an adapter.

I am not sure it is a related issue - that’s why I did not mention it in the first place - but my bluetooth mouse was working fine until the big update from 1 week ago. Now 75% of the time in Bluetooth setting I get “no bluetooth found, plug in a dongle to use bluetooth”. I am aware of the Fn+F12 trap.

And yes, after restarting the latop a second tmie, the USB is now working now.

I am still having this issue. It looks like that after a restart, all the USB ports and bluetooth are working. But after some time, they automatically shut down and it is impossible to have them work again unless I restart the laptop.

Could it be due to some power management issue?

After latest update, my USB ports work without having to restart them after boot and disk decryption.
