it’s a flood of good news. I hope people will share their first impression when they get it.

So it looks like all early July orders that have received emails? Can’t really speculate on how many were ordered in July before they get to August orders which is when I ordered, mid August, so I look forward to someone posting that they ordered in August and received their email!

Since the first batch of L14 will be shipped with 4-cell batteries, I suppose that this batch will be small: all other L14s should be shipped with 3-cell batteries, but such small battery is not yet available, so no shipping information for the rest of back-orders.
In the shipping email message they confirmed that the ETA of the small battery is unknown.
Anyway, if someone of the early back-orderers chooses to wait for the 3-cell battery, a place in the queue will be freed. I chose not to wait because I really need a new laptop: my old one is almost died, my smartphone is very old and I will get my L5 only within months…

So, the email sent to early buyers on March 26th was a bit sketchy and just seemed to kick the can down the road… It seemed to imply that they were in shipping and to update your information, but no need to confirm your information… plus “Shipping will start by the end of March and you should receive an email with tracking information within the next 2-3 weeks”. March 26 + 2 weeks = APRIL 9th. Was the email just a smoke screen to hide yet more purism delays?

I still have very very little faith that Purism will actually ship a single laptop in March. Please prove me wrong!

@any1 You may have misunderstood the email.
To my knowlage that email was sent to early pre-orderers and there is likely more than a few of them. It makes more sense for Purism to send the same email for all of them. The email says “within the next 2-3 weeks” which would apply to all of the early pre-orders, some might ship tomorrow and some 3 weeks from 26th.

Maybe, but I dont read it that way… when I see 2-3 weeks, thats somewhere between say 10 days - 21 days… hardly the 3 business days left in March.

Shipping from Purism usually takes ten business days for products in stock, so shipping starting in March is understandable.

Purism should write in their email that they send to customers “Dear insert-name-here, thank you for being impatient with us …” :joy: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Just to say that I got that shipping email, too [forgot when I ordered, ages ago  ] and really appreciate the effort it must have taken Purism as a tiny company to [start] delivering given the Situation.

Maybe you miscommunicate things sometimes, sometimes overpromise, but it was really great to get shipment email finally. I hope it was a stress-reliever for the people working for Purism.

Now, ship the darned thing!

You probably had to create an account at Purism to make an order, so if you check here, you should see your original invoice and date of order: https://shop.puri.sm/my-account/

I ordered Aug. 3rd and I received an email. Although, i did change my battery option to get it here quicker so that might be the reason.

Huh, I ordered in Mid July with only ONE M.2 drive (which should mean I’m slated for the earlier 4-cell version) and I still didn’t receive an email. I wonder why…

After eliminating the obvious things like

  • your spam dog ate your email
  • you’ve changed your email address

and allowing a few days perhaps, you should contact support@puri.sm

As you expected, the spam dog did devour the message

I can confirm…

Ordered: July 14, 2020
Received Email: March 26, 2021
