PS As far as I can tell, the offending kernel versions are 6.1.64 and 6.1.65 - so there’s a good chance of being either ahead of that (Librem 5 using PureOS Byzantium should be 6.5.0, or thereabouts?) or well behind that (most of my other computers, using Ubuntu LTS).

Nobody likes losing data.

True but we all do backups, right? Backups are for all purposes. Yes, infrequent file system data corruption bugs. Yes, hardware failure. Yes, cyber intrusion / ransomware. And, perhaps more likely than any of those, accidental deletion i.e. user error.
