i lack of knowledge here, what this partnership mean? i know nextcloud is a platform for cloud data storage like dropbox but privacy wise, but the news mean there will be an app for that on librem5 or something else?

That’s what I thought, maybe a native app that ‘fits’ properly on Librem 5.
Nextcloud is a self hosted file storage and more. It can be used to replace commercial solutions like google. It can be used for files, calendar, contacts basically replacing google services on Android.
In short this is awesome. I developed the Ubuntu Touch owncloud app and I was willing to do the same for the Librem5 however having native support at platform level is far superior to any 3rd party offering.
