I recently did a fresh reinstall of PureOS (using the OEM image so I could get full-disk encryption) on my Librem13v2 and just noticed that the camera hardware is not detected. Cheese reports “No devices found” and lsusb
reports
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 04ca:300d Lite-On Technology Corp. Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
i.e. nothing that looks like a camera. I did have the hardware switch in the off position during the reinstall, is it possible that affected something?
Possibly related, possibly not: After the reinstall my Anker USB hub is not recognized if it is plugged in during boot. I have to remove and re-insert it to get it and the devices plugged into it recognized.
Suggestions on how to fix this (hopefully both problems)?
EDIT: I booted into a live Fedora and there was no camera there either, but USB hub worked and continues to work as expected after booting back into PureOS. So the aforementioned USB hub problem seems to be resolved and thus unrelated to the camera not existing.
