After my last up update to Crimson, I have not been able to access the outside world.
Librem 5 : No internet connection, no access to updates.
I do not think it could be my modem because i can log on to my WiFi.
Any advise?

What do the icons at the top of the screen indicate?
So you are saying that the Librem 5 does not successfully associate with your home WiFi (but you know that the home WiFi is working because other devices in your home do successfully associate)? Or the Librem 5 does associate with your home WiFi but can’t access the internet?
And the Librem 5 is not getting mobile data either? Or you are not trying mobile data?
Have you tried rebooting? How many times?
Left to right
battery percentage and Icon, pegged symbol Bluetooth, WiFi and ? mark indicating simCard not present.
hope this clear enough.
Thank you for quick response.
I am connected to my WiFi.
Sudo apt update ==> could not resolve ‘repo.pureos.net’
Firefoxe ==> Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site. i get same result with any site.
OK. So DNS is hosed but that could in turn be because network access is hosed.
From the shell prompt on the Librem 5, what output do you get from the command
ping 1.1.1.1
How have you determined that?
SimCard not present is worrying.
Remember, do not remove the sim card tray while Librem 5 is powered on. To be honest, after reading horror stories about people burning up their sim cards on the forum, I do not even remove the sim card tray while the Librem 5 has the battery in the device.
Something about the Librem 5 is wired differently from other phones, and if you remove the sim card tray while the power is on it will fry the cards, or so they say on the forums. I have never wanted to try it.
Separate from the above issue about 2 weeks ago my Librem 5s (i have two of them) started periodically losing WiFi connectivity at my friend’s house. They would act as if they could connect, but the connection would cease to function after some amount of usage, and then they would stop even allowing themselves to connect to the WiFi access point. I don’t know why or what changed, but when I host my own WiFi the Librem 5’s were fine. So it almost might be a case where some (but not all) routers in the US did some sort of upgrade that blocks out Librem 5’s. We had some other device, which I think was using ThinkPenguin USB wifi that requires only libre drivers which also stopped working around this time, even though all the corporatocracy devices like Smart TVs and Smart Fridge and Smart Oven and whatever else are fine and are still on WiFi. But this issue only affected WiFi, not Modem. So it might be a separate issue to yours. It’s important to determine which issue you are having and whether the status indicator is WiFi or Modem on your icons at the top of the screen.
Ping 1.1.1.1 responded
64 bytes from 1.1.1.1 icmp_seq= now at 277 tt1=58 time 30 ms average
I removed it a while back. it is in my android phone. I have performed many updates and upgrades without the SimCard. So i do not think absent of SimCard is relevant in this case. It started from my last updates. I think. Good point though.
Thank you.
OK, so you have a working local network and internet connection on the Librem 5. It is just DNS that is hosed.
Please post output from resolvectl status
Note that because you do have a working local network, you should be able to capture the output in a file and copy the file to another computer in order to post it here. Or you can add128.140.118.223 forums.puri.sm
to your /etc/hosts file on the Librem 5 and post the output directly to the forum (maybe).
You haven’t by any chance been playing around with VPN?
