No PureOS Crimson Development Report: July 2025? :worried:

Maybe summer holidays for Purism?

I’m waiting for it as a drug addicted!!

Can’t wait to leave my L5 from drawer and start to use it as daily driver!

Please Someone has info about it?

@jonathon.hall has been exceptionally busy lately and hasn’t had available time to write the report, as stated in his recent post. Rest assured that development has been underway in the meantime. There should be a report published soon. Crimson release is still top priority.

dos post is really really nice as dos development too. So yes i prefer both billable.

A next nice dos post will be: Camera GPU like ISP Accel on L5.

Paid or not, time spent on composing a post is time not spent on development.

Also, time spent on Crimson is time not spent on Dawn, and dos hast posted that in some ways Dawn is closer to being ready for release that Crimson.

The first part is may true. But time spend on 1 post per month brings support of customers.

But you are wrong with the second message. Time spend on Crimson brings Dawn closer, because Dawn needs a lot of work that is going into Crimson. That means, no Crimson = Dawn still has the same release day.

What dos said is: the development time after Crimson to reach Dawn is very much shorter than from Byzantium to Crimson.

I had previously created a policy where AI could be used for proof-reading, etc, but not primary authorship of content. The staff member that repeatedly used excessive AI in their posts has been transferred from the marketing department to sales, and policy/procedures have been clarified to reduce confusion in the future.

If you are serious about this:

A T&M SOW would be arranged for expectation management, including but not limited to the following:

  1. it is up to up to the author’s discretion to write requested content
  2. charge rates would have to be communicated to Purism prior to work
  3. any time charged would supplement (not replace) any development hours
  4. topics must be approved prior to authorship
  5. posts on Purism’s behalf must undergo pre-publication review
    1. time spent on any rejected content is still billed
    2. justification statements are provided for content modifications or rejections

Regarding technical development, private PureOS development funding is provided through PureOS Subscriptions but specific tasks would instead involve a T&M SOW.
