I want to jumpdrive into my phone and the jumpdrive software did not get any updates for 5 years. At least the official release page did not get any update while the project had only 7 merges on top since then.
Is it still the preferred way? And doesn’t it become an issue to have no updated jumpdrive?
I don’t think Jumpdrive needs updates except to add additional devices or to add compatibility if there’s a hardware revision with the Librem 5.
Looking at the source code, the entrypoint is the shell script which just invokes uuu to run this code: https://github.com/dreemurrs-embedded/Jumpdrive/blob/master/src/purism-librem5.txt.
You do want to use the version from the master branch because the kernel that was used in the last official release used to have a bug that made eMMC not show up sometimes, but other than that - yeah, there’s not much reason to update things there.
