Numpad use results in disabled mouse and inability to click anywhere on screen

Hi all, I seem to have encountered an interesting glitch…

I have a Librem 15 v 3 TPM, running all latest updates
I am using a USB mouse but this problem occurs with or without the mouse.

When I press numlock, or try to use any of the numpad keys, I can no longer select (“click”) on things anywhere on the screen or on any open program, even the GUI bar at the top… the only way to fix this is to restart the computer, by holding the power button for 5+ seconds to force it to shut off.
Edit: Right click seems to have functionality

Perhaps unrelated, but on boot I receive this error message before it goes to the boot screen:

[ 1.237981] i915 0000:00:02.0: firmware failed to load i915/skl_dmc_ver1_27.bin (-2)
[ 1.237989] firmware_class: See https://wiki.debian.org/Firmware for information about missing firmware
[ 1.471449] ata1.00: failed to set xfermode (err_mask=0x40)
[ 6.941019] ata1.00: failed to set xfermode (err_mask=0x40)

Occasionally it flashes additional messages (maybe once every 10 or 20 boots) but I haven’t managed to capture those.

Any help would be appreciated.

Even if anyone can tell me which log files would be helpful, that would be great
