JPEG has provisions for embedded comments

JPEG also has provisions for embedded metadata, which have wide flexibility as to format and content. However any privacy-respecting forum will strip and discard all metadata, including comments, from the original uploaded JPEG, before worrying about making lower res copies / thumbnails.

For the command line kids (or the anti GUI crew), sox could pull out a single ring from the audio file…

sox bell-500-phone.ogg bell-500-single-ring.ogg silence 1 0.1 0.5% 1 0.1 0.5%

I did so and cut out one ring plus one silence after it. Works fine. Btw: the L5 has the files with .oga suffix, which sox does not recognices.
