Yes, if you’re downloading software for the Librem 5.
That doesn’t work. I showed why.
I’ll go with the one that works.
I’m here today to find out how to remove the old PureOS Store icon and replace or create a desktop shortcut to new browser dependent one. I’m sure I’ll find a how-to as I seem to remember reading about creating desktop shortcuts.
I don’t like using a browser to get there - but it’s the only alternative there is.

Launch Web
, go to desired website.
Then Preferences “hamburger menu” dropdown > Install Site as Web Application:
Then Create; change the name if you want to:
Then it appears in your app grid (alphabetized):
To delete any web applications you’ve created:
Launch Web
> Preferences “hamburger menu” dropdown > Open Application Manager > Delete button.
It’s a good idea to perform sudo apt update
(and sudo apt upgrade
if there are any waiting updates) before installing a new application. (It’s possible your website method will do that automatically, but I’m not sure.)
The only “Web” on this L5 is the browser called Web. In that Preferences > there is no “Open Application Manager”
Not my “method”. Ya can’t pin that one on me
The browser method is one that works. Others have pointed out that the link on L5 desktop to PureOS Store does not work for them either.
I wonder why Puri is ignoring it doesn’t work right:thinking:
SideNote: (maybe you know who might believe me and pass it on.)
I was just browsing the working store and after about 30 minutes, noticed the icon for Pure OS Store (app?) is missing the icon on the working site.

My bad… The actions I mentioned are in the “hamburger menu,” which also contains “Preferences.” But no need to go into Preferences. Sorry.
Fixed.
No clue.
Make sure you review my comment to you from a few days ago: Install From sotware.pureos.net - NOT! - #16 by amarok
I meant “your method” in the sense of “the website download way that you’ve been talking about.”
