Old Timer VGA Question

I have an old Dell R720 and the video now only shows in the red spectrum on VGA.

For you old hands out there, would the cause be the video card or the monitor?

(Another monitor I could find at a Goodwill thrift store. I could just get one and try it. 50% chance of being right.)

You could try with another cable also, to rule that out.

And the cable’s probably the easiest one to test. A multimeter is all you need for that.

Or just swap it out for another one that is working elsewhere, and see what happens.
