Outgoing calls cannot be established

Hello,
I currently can’t start phone calls with my Librem 5. Incoming calls work fine, but when I start a call, it usually terminates when the other party picks up.

Yes, I did some experiments regarding the installation of Plasma Mobile … so I reinstalled pureOS stable now without any modifications, but the problem persists.

  • Are there such weird things like call progress tones to be set up correctly like with SIP telephones?
  • Can I debug a phone call?
  • Does someone else has this problem?

What is the firmware version shown in the BM818 Tool app? If you don’t have that installed yet:
sudo apt install bm818-tools
You’ll need it to activate VoLTE.

You might want to mask your IMEI in your post above. It’s a unique identifier for your device.

Ok, sory for the IMEI.

Here is the FW-version from bm818-tool:

M100E_YCSN0_1.0.0_220926
YCSN0_M100E-1BAD_3118_V1.0.0.2_20220930
M100E_1.0.4_200715

VoLTE is now enabled after reboot. I tried a call, it took quite long, til it started ringing, but then the other party could pick up successfully. I have LTE here. Ok, this was just one try. I will test further.

It’s your own security. So better say “thank you” instead of “sorry”.

Everything seems to check out now, so let us know if you experience any further issues.

The establishing of outgoing calls still does not work in any case…

Try using a different telecommunications provider that does not use VoIP and see if the issue persists.
