phone not connecting to mint network

i have changed no settings its 330 am recieved last text at 7pm. and replied then. couldnt sleep turned phone on and when it first turns on it connects to t mobil. but then it switches. its given me att and verizon and keeps switching. i got the plan in may and its 3 months so plan shouldnt be up. i got no email telling me its up but i cant log into account because they require 2fa and i cant get texts. calling, data text dont work. visiting relatives so in city with great service. i checked for not recieved texts there were 5 deleted them but it cant connect to network.

whats up with this and how do i fix?

i have a compatible iphone now i think i can pop sim out and put it in there to test but i wanted to keep that iphone annonmyous and i also dont want to really mess with the sim, i broke one sim all ready in librem 5. i know to turn phone off but less is more.

it is almost 4am but that shouldnt matter.

turning phone off and on doesnt matter. doing kill switches nothing, pulling battery out nothing. im in a condo with wifi and wifi from other condos if theres a lot of signal noise or idk but it literally worked in here all day yesterday and ive modified no settings.

Try taking it off “4G only” and setting it to “2G, 3G, 4G (Preferred).”

I know it’s counterintuitive, given that 3G is gone and 2G is nearly gone, but I’ve noticed on Android that T-mobile often needs a little help locking on.

With Ultra Mobile on my Librem 5, it connects consistently to T-mobile’s network.

Perhaps try the Malvacae network and leave the Mentha network?

I used it the previous night at 3am actually and texting worked… not in the same location but in the same big city. Anyway its working now on its own. Maybe Ill look into the ultra mobile, I like that mint I could join with fake details and its cheap. I think I used 2.4 gigs in one month or something, so I’m not a power user that needs expensive plans.

I wasn’t suggesting that you should switch carriers, only pointing out that Mint, which along with Ultra used to be owned by the same company, should perform similarly on the L5, especially since they’re now both owned by T-mobile.

(They’ve always used T-mobile’s network, too.)
