They said they are updating every weekend, but actually I was using Byzantium and updating once every six years or whatever cycle that’s on. I should probably get a second Librem 5 with newer phosh on it or something to try to contribute meaningful reports. At some point I signed up for an account for the PureOS wiki then forgot the password and email or something and was never able to get in.
What’s the best way to improve this stuff rather than only being a user? I’m using PureOS+Phosh as my only phone every day and have been for two and a half years or more – but I’m just living in the past on Byzantium.
Something I heard about but have not tried yet myself: there is mobian with forky (latest testing), then phosh have nightly builds for that, which should let you test the latest stuff so that you can help with bug reports for that:
… Nightly Package Builds?
Izzat why I have a blue light almost every morning on my Librem 5 and have to download an update almost every other day?
The blue light is just a notification indicator. The notification can be a notification about an available update but it can be a notification about something else. You need to swipe down from top to see that there is a notification and then touch the notification to make it go away.
Yes I know what a notification is. Yes I know how to swipe.
They are almost ALWAYS an update notifications. Yes almost every day.
And half the time the update notification says it has already been done. A glorious waste of time.
Perhaps spending half a minute on turning these off will be a more constructive use of your time than complaining about it on Internet forums:
Are you touching the notification to make it go away? (I experience the behaviour of the notification hanging around if I used the presence of the notification but only as a trigger to go off and apt in a shell.)
Well yes, that’s how I know to make the blue light stop. Bear in mind I’m answering this before I check DOS’ recommendation above.
Before it became a complaint, it was merely a confirmation of Skalman’s post.
I looked all over for my screen for a “Preferences” icon, not on my L5, made sure with a “show all apps” button. Dug deeper in Settings and Mobiles Settings, not there either.
Found it, thanks. I would have never known to look at the Hamburger icon of the PureOS store.
Although I noticed mine had a “less than” < go back symbol and yours did not in the upper left of the pic. So I think yours must have its own icon.
