Pointer cursor slow to apper after switching apps

/This was in Sudo apt get excessive firefox-esr gets induce network timesouts?
(quoted below)

But it seems a bigger issue than I thought, so may deserve its own thread…

Actually it seems worse switching between gnome terminal windows, but that may be
my poor eyesight not seeing the I-beam cursor that when clicked starts the blinking block cli cursor.
Clicking it without seeing the pointer first is often a bad diversion.

Even with this posting interface, I have a hard time tracking the pointer/cursor, which
leads me to another problem, about losing files unless I do explicit sync and sudo sync before
lock/suspending for over night.

I tried a tweak for locating the cursor but the config for that seems forgotten, suggesting
problem retaining files, which I will pursue with support. Here I am just wondering if it is just me
(not unlikely) or whether others have had similar experiences.

BTW, is there an emacs mode for this interface, else I ought to prepare in emacs
and just paste here

BTW, The pointer cursor often takes a few seconds to appear after
Super-Tab to switch from firefox-esr to terminal and also switching back again.
Is that from a screen-keyboart pointer attack mitigation fix? Maybe using some
lock transaction that schedules non-realtime polling or such to continue?
Or a driver issue?
Anyone else seeing slow pointers?
