Hi, I have been using keepassxc (shown as editors pick in software “store” ) and purebrowser in pureos , but I haven’t been able to get keepassxc and purebrowser to talk to each other like firefox or chrome do with the appropriate plugins. Both the KeePassHttp-Connector plugin keepassxc-browser plugin try forever unable to reach keepassxc yet I can see the port is open on 127.0.0.1 awaiting the connection. Is there something unique to purebrowser that is required above putting purebrowser in compatibility mode as mentioned here https://tracker.pureos.net/w/troubleshooting/firefox_compat_mode/ ?
Any pointers greatly appreciated… as a browser with no access to my passwords is considerably less useful.
I haven’t tried KeePassXC but some password plugins require enabling popups. Purebrowser seems to come with uBlock Origin installed (? needs confirmation, but mine did). If you haven’t already done so, click the UD shield near the top right and see if you’re blocking popups.
I use KeepassXC, and can give you some helpful advice. Since Purebrowser’s version has not yet been updated to be based on Firefox 52 ESR, the KeePassHttp-Connector plugin won’t work; instead, you’ll need to install passifox (which works; it’s what I’m using right now). Once Purebrowser is up-to-date with the latest ESR, KeePassHttp-Connector should work just fine (it works on the Firefox 52 ESR that’s included in Debian Stretch).
Thank you so much, that was it… havent used pasifox in quite some time and did not even think about this browser being that much older in implementation… seems obvious now LOL
