On the Post the 2 train image looks different. Please maintain consistency.
Also the header of the post is too plain which do not help to Reset the brain before to read.

It’s because the train got swapped out for a major hardware upgrade in order to achieve higher speeds towards the destination.

I made those drawings and as I am not an expert in trains, I used reference images of real trains to draw them. Obviously, they were not the same trains but I tried to make them look alike. I wanted the back of the train to look like it’s the back, which is not always the case on modern trains. I also wanted the train to look modern when running. I should have updated the first image of the train leaving the station to feature the more modern look of the 2nd one (which I actually made look a bit more square than it actually was). but time was missing. They are just blog post illustrations anyway.

the first image looks like an urban (short distance, lower speed) train while the second image looks like an inter-city (long distance, somewhat higher speed) train (and neither is state of the art in train design).
I say: own the inconsistency. It represents progress.
Next Development Report we’re expecting Shinkansen or TGV.

Exactly! All in all it has to be artistic and it is a metaphor anyway so each image shows what it needs to represent.
Soon the train will become a spaceship!
