PureOs Download 404? (ISO path changed on server)

Hi guys, I’m trying to download PureOS to put on my laptop, however when I go to the download the website 404’s.

https://downloads.puri.sm/live/gnome/2019-09-26/pureos-9.0-gnome-live_20190926-amd64.hybrid.iso

Is this happening for anyone else?

You can try this link.

That is the link to the button I pressed. When you click the “Download.iso” button it redirects there with a 404.

Thanks for the help though.

Try this one then.
And yes, it does happen to me too. Seems they’re preparing for rolling release but didn’t update the links

Hi thanks alot man, what’s the diffrence between the link you sent and the other link? Is it a diffrent version?

Yes, amber before /live - amber is current stable release and there will be rolling ahead.

Ah thanks alot, thats awesome.

Hi I was wondering if you could be so kind as too assist me again.

I’ve installed PureOS on my laptop and I’m excited to get started! However I have one issue, I have no network drivers and my laptop doesn’t have ethernet.

I have a Qualcom Atheros QCA9377, I’m aware Purism doesn’t assist with these drivers as they’re most likely not FLOSS however I need Internet access on my laptop.

Do you know how I can download the drivers? The only link I found is qualcom’s website and they’ve made me ‘request an account’ which with a temporary email address I’m guessing they won’t give me.

I have a PC and a USB so I can transfer them this way.

that seems to need ath10k module and firmware from debian’s firmware-nonfree or use wifi/eth usb dongle which would be recognized.

First you need to install firmware-atheros_20190114-2_all.deb (or firmware-atheros_20190717-2_all.deb) and if this “works” you might edit your sources list and have there (add if needed) something equal to main contrib non-free from debian repository like buster and proceed with # apt update. I hope this helps?

However I can’t do this as my laptop doesn’t have an ethernet port. I’m sorry if I seem really stupid here however this is my only Linux machine, how can I download the .deb and put it on my laptop without an ethernet port.

You can download mentioned .deb file with your smartphone, connect smartphone to your laptop, copy this file to some folder on the laptop and install it as root user over terminal by issuing command apt install firmware-atheros_20190114-2_all.deb. Or you can download the same .deb file from somewhere else (or from same laptop by using Windows) and put it to your USB stick and then easily transfer it to your laptop when using PureOS (or any other Linux distribution based on Debian). Do you need link to this file?
