Most are just bad. One you linked to (https://forum.qubes-os.org/t/problem-attaching-atheros-usb-wifi-to-sys-net-in-qubes-4-03/475/3) seems to possibly work but is bad security and also possibly could lead to issues like no USB keyboard and mouse functionality which will not be so great.
Alternative is pci device passthrough to net. On a generic desktop btw but I don’t exactly have enough space for a PCI USB controller to pass.
