Reddit suddenly unusable on L5?

Since Saturday, July 5, https://reddit.com has become unusably laggy on Firefox on the Librem 5. It no longer scrolls smoothly but rather with just 1 or 2 fps.

Maybe they just shipped some kind of change in the CSS? Possibly some new animation that is extremely taxing on the L5’s CPU?

Has it become laggy just for me, or has any of you folks experienced the same?

Edit: I’m primarily interested in 1. what might be causing this change in behavior, and 2. whether others can confirm the same noticeable degradation since this weekend.

Opinions on my choice of browser or the fact that I use Reddit are unwelcome.

No, I use my own Redlib instance to deal with unpredictable and/or user-unfriendly web changes.

Firefox is terrible on Arm even with Gles3.0. Chromium it better.

Firefox killed firefox-embeded from v78, currently only sailfish it continue development firefox-embeded with V91 and v102 on sailfish 5.1

old.reddit.com works for me, but you need to zoom way out in Firefox and then pinch to zoom in to read anything.

It’s not great, but it is usable.
Unfortunately Reddit closed off its APIs so this won’t likely ever improve with alternative clients.

And an extension like Privacy Redirect can auto-redirect clicked Reddit links to old Reddit. (You can set other sites to redirect as well.)
