SD Card Reader not recognized on PureOS

Hey! I’ve just started using PureOS and I’m loving it!
However, I’m having some trouble to use SD Cards (which I hadn’t before with Ubuntu).
After some search, it looks like there’s a problem with kernel and drivers, but my linux knowledge is limited and I’d rather look for help before messing up with kernel.

Nothing is unrecognized. I'm still not sure which of these is the card reader, probably some usb controller.

Unfortunately I didn’t test the sd card reader before today’s update (12/nov/18), so I’m not sure if it’s related.
Anyway, thanks in advance. Let me know if more information is needed.

Does the card you are trying to use work in another computer?

Have you tried a different card?

To me it looks like either the card reader is not plugged into the mainboard (which wouldn’t be an issue if the card reader used to work), or the card reader itself is failing.

Thanks for replying!

Yes, I’ve tried 3 different micro sd cards and several Micro SD Adapter. They’re all working fine within Ubuntu and Windows.

However, I’ve installed firmware-realtek with
sudo apt install firmware-realtek
and the feedbacks have changed.

I’m not getting these “device descriptor” errors anymore, but the SD Card keeps being re-detected within random intervals and some errors sometimes.

This is /var/log/syslog after inserting a SD Card (it keeps looping)

Any hints?
