SIM Dies, Any Idea Why?

I swapped my SIM to a different one for a different country while in an airplane over the ocean, being carefuul to only remove the SIM tray while the battery of the L5 was removed.

I also swapped modems from E to A variant up in the air. When I landed it was great , L5 workingf in the new country and plan, messaged my peeps and such.

Next day the l5 is failing to recognize the SIM or uSD. After returning from an xcursion where this bumped me offline, I tried the uSD and SIM on other devices. uSD seems okay, but other device said “No SIM” when presented with my SIM. What gives? How could L5 be fine then nuke SIM when its already in?

I’d say give it another try before declaring the sim card dead. Maybe you just inserted it the wrong way or something?

The SIM tray may still be electrified after immediately removing the battery.

Where can one read about this?

This is just my conjecture, I am not interested in troubleshooting poorly designed faulty hardware as a former end-user.
