Slim &/or Core Installer

Hello Dev, I have a question:

Question 1:

Do you have an ISO image for a Core or Slim version of your operating system available for direct installation on bare-metal servers? This would be ideal for production environments where a minimal, resource-efficient setup is preferred.

Question 2:

I noticed that your Docker repository hasn’t been updated in nearly four years. Is this repository still actively maintained and supported? Or is it a final, stable version that is no longer receiving updates?

These questions directly address your concerns about the availability of a minimal installation option and the ongoing support for the Docker image.

No, even the Librem Server v2 uses the same PureOS image as other x86 Librem products.

Specify the URL.

I mean a year… Is that official link?

And maybe a URL for Q1 too.

Yes it is, here is the privacy front-end equivalent (on my Container instance):

pureos/pureos - Container

There are two versions of PureOS at the moment, so here is one link for each of them:

Before you install PureOS on any device, remember that the operating system only uses gratis and libre open-source software, so any hardware requiring proprietary drivers and/or firmware will not be supported after installation. This commonly includes discrete graphics cards from Nvidia and various Wi-Fi/Bluetooth network interfaces.

Thank you for the clarification. I understand that PureOS is committed to using only free and open-source software, which means that hardware requiring proprietary drivers or firmware is not supported. I’ll be sure to keep this in mind when selecting and configuring my system.

If you want to save yourself the hassle of selecting compatible hardware, you can use Purism’s Librem Server v2 as mentioned earlier:

It has PureBoot support for boot firmware tamper-protection, among other unique offerings.

I hope that this is part of a growing trend.
